    Montessori Magnet Application Period

    CLICK HERE to complete the online magnet application.  This application is only for students who currently attend Belfair Elementary School.

    Remember once the online application is complete, print two (2) copies of the signature page and submit to the Belfair Montessori Magnet Office, which is located at LaSalle Elementary School (8000 LaSalle Avenue).

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Summer Location

    Due to summer renovations to Belfair Montessori Magnet School, the office has been relocated to LaSalle Elementary School located at 8000 LaSalle Avenue. For additional information please call the office at (225) 356-6191.

    Welcome to Belfair Montessori Magnet  Elementary School. We are looking forward to working with you to make this an exciting and rewarding year of academic growth for each of our students.

    Using the process of collaborative management, the School Improvement Team, faculty and staff of Belfair Montessori Magnet Elementary School will continue to implement a quality program designed to meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students. We will equip students to function at their highest potential, thereby enabling them to lead full, productive, and rewarding lives.

     

    All Visitors Need To Report To The Office Upon Arrival

    You Must have a visable Visitor's Pass

    All visitors are welcome at Belfair Montessori Magnet Elementary. It is imperative that you MUST sign in at the office and get a Visitor's Pass before going to a classroom. This procedure guarantees the safety of our children.

    Our Program


    Belfair ElementaryBelfair Montessori Magnet Elementary School has two educational programs. There is a traditional program (Grades K-5) and a Montessori program. (3 years- 5th grade)

    To educate the whole child--academically, socially, emotionally, and physically—developing successful and productive citizens for a diverse and changing world

    A child-centered program nurturing academic and social success

    Our Program

    Belfair Montessori Magnet Elementary School offers a quality education to each of its 300+ students. Whether Montessori or traditional, Belfair is committed to having each child become a successful citizen. We offer a caring staff and faculty who see each child as an individual and works to have him/her reach their full potential. In addition to our core curriculum, we also offer each student the following ancillary classes: P.E., library, art, music, and computer lab. In addition to these quality programs we offer counseling, exceptional student services, READ 180, Exploring Math, reading and math coaches, tutoring, extended day, and ICARE.
     


    New National Board Certified Teachers

    We would like to celebrate two members of our staff who recently became National Board Certified Teachers.  Dr. Dilek Buchholz (Montessori Prek/K) and Jeannine Smith (Montessori 4,5) were recently named as successfully passing the rigorous testing required. Congratulations!!

    Our School

    Belfair Montessori Magnet Elementary School opened in 1950 as a neighborhood school. In 1985, Belfair became a Visual and Performing Arts/ Extended Day Academy. The Montessori program replaced the academy in 1996, and presently has ten Montessori classes.


    Belfair Montessori Magnet Elementary School is proud to be a PBIS school.
